David Morris (Chief Executive Officer - Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust)
David has been the Chief Executive of the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust since September 2013 and has seen the Trust grow from two Academies to twelve Academies. The Trust was initially set up to support and transform failing Church Schools. Nine of the twelve Academies joined the Trust because OFSTED had judged them to be inadequate. The first five Primaries to be re-inspected are now either Good or Outstanding. In September 2015 David was asked to be the CEO of the Diocese of Leicester Multi Academy Trust with 11 Academies as well as the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy Trust meaning that the joint Trust is responsible for 23 schools with plans for expansion imminently.
David joined the Diocese of Coventry Multi Academy trust from another national Academy sponsor, Landau Forte Charitable Trust, where he was in charge of Operations and Projects for three years opening 5 schools over this time, including two new school buildings through the Building Schools for the Future scheme.
David previously spent ten years as an Officer in the British Army serving in a number of hot spots across the world including Northern Ireland, Bosnia and latterly Afghanistan. When he left the Army he ran a number of large multi-million pound contracts, providing all the cultural support and training for troops deploying to Afghanistan.
