Carrie Smith (Governor Sidney Stringer Academy / Director)
My passion has always been organising amazing training to meet employment needs - integrating employment and skills. My own first paid employment was working for a local newspaper before moving into further education to specifically link employers to training. This has remained my driver throughout the 30 years I have spent working in the education sector.
During this time, I have held a number of senior posts both in the UK and Internationally, giving me a great insight into what are the key components of providing effective training programmes that meet both individual and employer needs. I know how to keep pieces of work moving along and taking teams with me.
I live in Warwickshire and over the years I have worked in Solihull and Coventry as Vice Principal. Recently I was seconded to set up and run 3 vocational training colleges in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia the contract finished with an Ofsted inspection overall outcome of Good. I bring creativity, attention to detail and a strong eye for communications to all of my work. I'm also really committed to making work fun for everyone!
