Kiran Vithal - (Governor Sidney Stringer Academy / Director)
Kiran works for the Department for Education as Educational ICT Adviser delivering and supporting the Department’s EdTech strategy. Prior to this Kiran worked for the Academies and Regional Delivery Division, to ensure school improvement support was leveraged to the right schools working closely in collaboration with the RSC, MAT CEOs, Local Authorities and Dioceses. Prior to this role, Kiran worked for Ark Schools, one the UK’s leading multi-academy trusts for nine years. He is a former Vice Principal, often in charge of leading and running a school of 794 11-19 year olds, leading on all areas academy life, and significantly deputising for his Principal. Working as part of leadership team at Ark St Alban’s Kiran secured outstanding outcomes and the academy has consistently been in the top 5% of schools nationally for student progress with attainment above national average. Kiran has extensive experience in leading and manging change in ‘transition’ schools, supporting the other new schools join the network. As a Future Leaders participant, he has also supported other schools nationally in improving outcomes and ensuring curriculum structures align cohesively for achievement. Kiran studied Computer Science & Software Engineering at the University of Birmingham and has a Masters in Educational Leadership from the University of Warwick.
